Friends of Holiday Outreach

What We Do

During the holiday season funds raised during various events held throughout the year are used to provide food to area food pantries and soup kitchens and provide gifts for children in the Rochester, NY area. The board members and other volunteers shop for food, toys and clothes to be distributed during the holiday season. Volunteers also assist in the wrapping and distribution of these gifts. If you or your organization are interested in volunteering for gift wrapping or any other Holiday Event please contact Kim Verstringhe or Tom Foster.

I just wanted to take this time to thank everyone for all of their help and support this past year. Holiday Outreach had a great year! We raised money through our Golf Tournament, Pancake Breakfast – at Rohrbach’s, and at our annual Bowl-A-Thon, and an additional $1,300 was donated in the memory of my nephew Stephen Pandaleon, who passed away in August. With all of the money we raised we were able to help so many needy children and families. We provided over 400 children, from 130 families, with toys and gifts (we delivered to 129 of the 130 families and are still in search of the 130th – wish us luck); supplied nearly 100 families with Thanksgiving dinner and staple supplies; outfitted 20 students at Jefferson High School who have recently emigrated from warm weather countries, with warm winter coats; and delivered holiday dinner and staple supplies to start the new year, to St. Peter’s soup kitchen on Brown Street.

We are looking forward to this coming year!
